Touch my Life executes commands on your Android when it is triggered by incoming SMS messages. Each command is customizable, putting you in control of how much the app can actually do. When the phone receives a text with one of the app’s predefined commands, it responds just like it would to a normal text. Then the Touch my Life app launches. There’s no option to cancel the response, and it happens almost instantly.
Let’s just be honest, the Touch my Life Android app lends itself to some seriously sneaky snooping, but it also makes leaving your Android at home less traumatic. Think about it. If you live on your Android (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?) and you leave it at home you can actually check your missed call log remotely with Touch My Life. It’s also ideal if you lose track of your phone. You can enable a long, loud buzz to help you find it, or send yourself an exact GPS location and address by shooting a single incoming message to your phone. Didn’t turn on the GPS? Yeah, there’s a remote command for that too. That’ll make phone snatchers think before they run off with your shiny electronics.
Frankly, we’re in awe of some of this app’s capabilities. A single text message can create a calendar event, turn on Wi Fi, record audio, video and pictures, and make using your phone a lot easier.

So, does it work? We are happy to report that all our tests were successful, as long as we remembered to use the specific command styles. The only time a command did not go through is when we were actually in the app making changes when the incoming command message appeared on the phone. Then the app force closed. But that’s understandable.
Whether the app is cued up to run or not, it works. And that is truly brilliant.
Overall Value
At the time of this review the Touch my Life Android app is available to download free of charge. The description claims the price will be going up to $1 soon, but we think this app is worth it either way. Do yourself a favor and get the app while it’s free. If you miss the sale window, get the app anyway. This is some seriously cool technology that puts you in control of your Android even when you’re far apart. It’s been a while since we’ve had the privilege of reviewing something truly innovative, so taking the time to look at Touch my Life was a pleasure.
